Crime Free Multi-Housing Program
The Lexington Crime Free Multi-Housing Program was designed to help residents, owners and the managers
of rental property keep drugs and other illegal activity off their property.
This program is honest and direct. It is solution oriented. It is easy, yet very effective in reducing the incident of crime in rental property. The training is provided free of charge. Call the Bureau of Community Services at 258-3634 for a listing of training dates, times and locations.
Program has 3 Phases:
Phase One: involves a ten-hour seminar presented by the police and fire departments, a civil attorney (four hour class), code enforcement personnel, the sheriff's department, and a narcotics representative with a drug dog demonstration.
Phase Two: will certify that the rental property has met the security requirements for the residents' safety. A police officer will perform a security check on your apartment property inspecting doors, locks, windows, lighting and landscape.
Phase Three: A resident crime prevention meeting will be conducted for full certification, and the managers will be granted the use of large metal signs for display on the property. The management will also be granted the use of the program logo in all advertisement.
