The Financial Crime Unit is responsible for investigating reports of:
- Embezzlement
- Theft by Deception
- Identity Theft
- Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Device
- Counterfeit Currency
- Other types of reported crime
These investigations regularly overlap into other crimes to include burglaries, Larceny From Autos, Robberies, and Homicides. Detectives who are document examiners regularly conduct handwriting exams in order to determine the authorship of specific documents.
