R.O.P.E. Unit
Repeat Offender Prosecution Enforcement Program

The R.O.P.E. Program was implemented in 1996 as a combined effort by the office of the Fayette County Commonwealth's Attorney and the Lexington Division of Police. This federally funded program has provided additional monies for prosecutors and police to focus on enhancing the period of incarceration for repeat felony offenders. Investigators assigned to the R.O.P.E. Unit work with prosecutors to identify repeat offenders as soon as possible and to develop the strongest possible case against them.
